Football Recap: Buchholz's Win on Friday Extends Winning Streak to Four

Buchholz extended their winning streak to four on Friday, bumping them up to 5-1. They blew past the Nease Panthers 27-7. For the Bobcats, this counts as revenge for the 20-17 victory the Panthers walked away with the last time they faced one another back in September of 2024.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Buchholz to victory, but perhaps none more so than Andrew Whittemore, who rushed for 88 yards and a pair of scores, and also threw for 182 yards while completing 71.4% of his passes. Those 88 rushing yards gave Whittemore a new career-high. Josh Menefee was another key back, rushing for 102 yards and one TD on only 11 carries.

Buchholz didn't let much get past them through the air: they limited Nease to a completion percentage of just 31.8%. The Bobcats have been improving in that area: they had allowed a completion percentage of 0.58 earlier this season, but they've only allowed one of 0.58 in their last three games.

As for Nease, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 4-2. The game marked their lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Despite the loss, Nease still got an impressive performance from Enrique Ordo?ez, who rushed for 137 yards and one touchdown on only 14 carries. Ordo?ez really tore up the turf during one magnificent 71-yard run.

Looking ahead, Buchholz is taking a road trip to face off against Gainesville at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Nease, they will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Bartram Trail at 7:00 p.m. on the 10th.
