Baseball Recap: Spring Grove Victorious

Spring Grove posted their closest victory since May 7, 2025 on Monday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with an 8-6 win over the Lewiston-Altura Cardinals. That's more bragging rights for the Lions, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Spring Grove let Ezra Konkel and Sam Klug run wild. Konkel went 1-for-2 with two runs and one double, while Klug got on base in all four of his plate appearances with one double and one RBI. That double marked the first that Klug has hit this season.

Spring Grove's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-4. As for Lewiston-Altura, they are on an eight-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-6.

Spring Grove didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 19-5 defeat against Lyle/Pacelli on the 21st. As for Lewiston-Altura, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next matchup, a 13-3 win against Wabasha-Kellogg on the 21st.
