Softball Recap: Lejeune Wins Going Away Against Wilmington Christian Academy

While Lejeune put up some runs on Friday, the same can't be said for Wilmington Christian Academy. Lejeune put the hurt on Wilmington Christian Academy with a sharp 10-0 victory. Considering the Devil Pups have won three matchups by more than five runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

The result came thanks to Molly McSorley's shutout, as she gave up just three hits and racked up ten Ks. Those ten strikeouts gave her a new career-high.

On the hitting side, Kadence Gordon was excellent, scoring three runs and stealing a base while getting on base in all three of her plate appearances. Another player making a difference was Lainey Baldwin, who went 1-for-3 with one home run.

Lejeune now has a winning record of 4-3-1. As for Wilmington Christian Academy, their loss was their ninth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 1-1.

Lejeune didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 20-0 defeat against Pamlico County on the 18th. As for Wilmington Christian Academy, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next game, a 0-0 tie against Scotland Christian Academy on the 18th.
