Recap: Egg Harbor Township Eagles vs. Atlantic City Vikings
Even though the Egg Harbor Township Eagles have not done well against the Atlantic City Vikings recently (they were 0-9 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Monday. Egg Harbor Township came out on top against Atlantic City by a score of 55-47. Given Egg Harbor Township's advantage in MaxPreps' New Jersey basketball rankings (they are ranked 24th, while Atlantic City is ranked 217th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Atlantic City lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Taison Parker, who dropped a double-double on 16 points and ten rebounds. Bridget Roach was another key contributor, scoring 14 points along with nine rebounds and six assists.
Egg Harbor Township's win bumped their record up to 12-1. As for Atlantic City, they have fallen quite a ways from their 23-6 record last season and are now at 1-8.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Egg Harbor Township will challenge Hammonton at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. Atlantic City won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Holy Spirit at 5:30 p.m. on January 16th.
