Softball Recap: McDowell Takes a Loss

McDowell fought the good fight in their extra-innings contest against Meadville on Monday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Bulldogs by a score of 2-1. That's two games in a row now that the Trojans have lost by just one run.

Bridget Zaczyk spent all eight innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned runs on two hits and racked up 17 Ks.

On the hitting side, Ayva Mickel was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-3 with two stolen bases and one RBI.

McDowell's defeat dropped their record down to 0-2.

Looking ahead, McDowell will take on Cooper at 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Meadville, they will be playing at home against Warren at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
