On Thursday Cris Melendez scored two runs and stole two bases while going 2-for-4, which was good enough to set a new career-high in hits. As if that's not impressive enough, the game was his fourth in a row with one or more stolen bases. On the year, he has slashed 0.148/0.378/0.222 with 8 runs, plus 13 stolen bases.

Coming up, Melendez and West will be playing in front of their home fans against Foothill at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Vikings have some work to do to even out the 1-9 series between these two since February of 2019, but a win here would be a good start.
