Basketball Recap: George Washington Extends Home Winning Streak to Three

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Magna Vista, George Washington was happy to have turned things around on Monday. They came out on top against the Heritage Pioneers by a score of 41-28. This was a revenge game for the Eagles: when they faced off against the Pioneers back in December of 2024, they had to take a 52-47 loss.

Heritage's loss came despite strong showings from Tailor Coles and Dy'Nzah Alexander. Coles dropped a double-double with 11 points and 13 rebounds, while Alexander posted 11 points and four steals. Those four steals gave Alexander a new career-high.

George Washington's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 11-9. Those victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 29.0 points over those games. As for Heritage, their record is now 6-13.

George Washington wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 44-25 victory against Tunstall on the 14th. As for Heritage, they have also already played their next matchup, a 62-45 defeat against Liberty on the 13th.
