The Liberty Lions will venture away from home to challenge the San Ramon Valley Wolves at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday. Both come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Liberty is headed into the game having just posted their closest victory since April 1, 2024 on Tuesday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Granada, sneaking past 7-6. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Lions.

Kaitlyn Macias was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She tossed 3.1 innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than two hits any time she's pitched this season. She was even better at the plate, going 2-for-3 with four RBI, one run, and one double. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in April of 2024.
In other pitching news, Kate Skinner looked comfortable as she struck out six batters over 3.2 innings while giving up just two earned (and four unearned) runs off two hits. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts any time she's pitched this season.
Back at the plate, Madison Tuttle was excellent, scoring two runs while going 2-for-3.
Meanwhile, everything went San Ramon Valley's way against Alameda on Tuesday as San Ramon Valley made off with an 8-2 win.
Lila McLeod spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and one unearned) run on seven hits and racked up eight Ks.
At the plate, the team relied heavily on Sophia Jin, who scored two runs and stole Two bases. while going 4-for-4. The team also got some help courtesy of Kayden West, who went 1-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and one RBI.
San Ramon Valley's record now sits at 2-0-1. As for Liberty, they now have a winning record of 2-1.
Thursday's contest will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Liberty hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .318. However, it's not like San Ramon Valley struggles in that department as they've averaged .315. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Liberty skirted past San Ramon Valley 4-3 in their previous meeting back in March of 2024. The rematch might be a little tougher for Liberty since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
