Basketball Recap: Carson Comes Up Short

Carson was the 65-59 winner over Concord when they last played one another back in January of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Carson Cougars fell 73-61 to the Concord Spiders on Tuesday.

Concord was led to victory by Jaden Reid and Jayden Beyan. Reid almost dropped a double-double on 21 points and nine rebounds, while Beyan dropped a double-double on 20 points and ten rebounds. Beyan is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last seven games he's played. Another player making a difference was Kyzen Coleman, who went 5 of 9 on his way to 14 points and seven rebounds.

Carson's loss was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 9-5. Those losses can't be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 74.3 points per game. As for Concord, their record is now 10-4.

Carson didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, an 81-21 win against South Rowan on the 9th. As for Concord, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 59-52 defeat against Northwest Cabarrus on the 9th.
