Basketball Game Preview: Edison Chargers vs. Port Clinton Redskins

Edison is 2-8 against Port Clinton since February of 2019 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Wednesday. The Edison Chargers will face off against the Port Clinton Redskins at 6:45 p.m. Edison will be strutting in after a win while Port Clinton will be coming in after a loss.

Having struggled with nine defeats in a row, Edison turned things around against Vermilion on Saturday. They secured a 45-39 W over the Sailors.

Meanwhile, Port Clinton was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They had to suffer through a 91-40 loss at the hands of Margaretta. While losing is never fun, the Redskins can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 571st, while the Polar Bears are ranked 49th).

Port Clinton's defeat dropped their record down to 5-9. As for Edison, their victory was their first in the conference, bumping their conference record up to 1-5 and their overall record up to 2-10.

Edison beat Port Clinton 62-49 in their previous matchup back in February of 2024. Will Edison repeat their success, or does Port Clinton have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
