Basketball Recap: Ravenscroft Comes Up Short

It was a Battle of the Birds when Ravenscroft faced off against Charlotte Latin on Saturday. The Ravenscroft Ravens fell 50-42 to the Charlotte Latin Hawks. The Ravens have struggled against the Hawks recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.

Despite the loss, Ravenscroft still got an impressive performance from Ellie Cronin, who posted 17 points and three steals. The matchup was Cronin's third in a row with at least ten points. Alyssa Bullock was another key player, putting up six points and nine rebounds.

Leading Charlotte Latin to victory were Charlotte Tune and Lanie Edwards. Tune went 6 of 14 on her way to 22 points, while Edwards went 8 of 15 on her way to 18 points and five rebounds. With that strong performance, Tune is now averaging an impressive 16 points per game. The team also got some help courtesy of Mollie Snyder, who put up five points and six rebounds.

Ravenscroft now has a losing record at 4-5. As for Charlotte Latin, the win (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 5-1.

Ravenscroft wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 63-39 loss against South Wake on the 10th. As for Charlotte Latin, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 51-42 victory against West Stanly on the 10th.
