Softball Recap: DeSales Comes Up Short

DeSales lost to Liberty Christian on Wednesday and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. The Fighting Irish fell 12-9 to the Patriots. The Fighting Irish have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Peyton Benavides and Theresa Holtzinger stepped up to the plate in a big way. Benavides went 3-for-4 with four RBI and two doubles, while Holtzinger went a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs, one double, and one RBI. Madison Ortuno also deserves some recognition as she hit her first double of the season.

DeSales' loss dropped their record down to 13-6. As for Liberty Christian, the win was the 11th in a row for them, bringing their record up to 18-2.

Coming up, DeSales will square off against Weston-McEwen/Griswold at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Liberty Christian does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
