Volleyball Game Preview: South County Stallions vs. West Springfield Spartans

The South County Stallions are taking a road trip to challenge the West Springfield Spartans at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

On Thursday, South County had just enough and edged out Alexandria City 3-2. The Stallions haven't had any issues with the Titans recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive win against them.

South County took Alexandria City into a fifth set where they got it done with a four-point win. The match finished with set scores of 25-15, 20-25, 27-29, 28-26, 15-11.

Meanwhile, West Springfield beat Lake Braddock 3-1 on Thursday.

West Springfield had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next three. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 23-25, 25-16, 25-20, 25-21.

West Springfield's victory bumped their record up to 16-6. As for South County, their win bumped their record up to 19-5.

South County couldn't quite get it done against West Springfield when the teams last played back in October as they fell 3-1. Can the Stallions avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
