Basketball Game Preview: Greenbrier Christian Academy Gators vs. Hickory Hawks

The Greenbrier Christian Academy Gators will face off against the Hickory Hawks at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Greenbrier Christian Academy's defense has only allowed 25 points per game this season, so Hickory's offense will have their work cut out for them.

Greenbrier Christian Academy is probably headed into the matchup with a chip on their shoulder considering Atlantic Shores Christian just ended the team's four-game winning streak on Tuesday. They were just a bucket shy of victory and fell 35-34 to the Seahawks.

The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Bayleigh Kaliher, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and ten steals. She has been hot, having posted four or more steals the last five times she's played. Katelyn Balka was another key player, putting up four points along with ten blocks and seven boards.

Meanwhile, it was a Battle of the Birds when Hickory faced off against Cox on Tuesday. Hickory came out on top against Cox by a score of 43-31.

Greenbrier Christian Academy's defeat ended a five-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 4-2. As for Hickory, their victory bumped their record up to 3-6.
