Recap: Marathon Dolphins vs. Key West Conchs
The Marathon Dolphins's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Wednesday after their third straight loss. They fell 61-49 to Key West. Marathon has not had much luck with Key West recently, as the team's come up short the last eight times they've met.
Despite the loss, Marathon saw an underclassman step up: DAESHAWN HOLMES scored 16 points along with seven rebounds and six blocks. HOLMES has been hot recently, having posted two or more blocks the last three times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of JOSH KOLER, who scored eight points along with seven rebounds.
Key West found their leader in underclassman James Osborne, who scored 23 points along with seven rebounds and four steals. Another player making a difference was Tramane Scott, who scored eight points along with 11 rebounds.
Marathon has been struggling recently, as they've lost nine of their last ten games, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-16 record this season. As for Key West, the win got them back to even at 8-8.
Marathon's homestand continues as they prepare to take on Coral Shores at 7:00 p.m. on January 26th. Key West will be staying on the road on Thursday to face off against MAST Academy at 5:00 p.m. on January 25th.
