Baseball Recap: Saturday's Loss Ends Rock Academy's Winning Streak

Rock Academy dropped their record down to 10-3 on Saturday, which also ended the team's five-game streak of wins. They fell 12-8 to the Calvin Christian Crusaders. The Warriors were not able to make up for their loss to the Crusaders from their previous meeting back in May of 2024.

Connor Prunk made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run. He is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games he's played. Another player making a difference was Ethan Daldo, who went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases and one RBI.

As for Calvin Christian, their record now sits at 4-2. Their hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

On Calvin Christian's side, Tyler Hoff made a big impact no matter where he played. He didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits over four innings pitched. Hoff was also stellar in the batter's box, going 3-for-5 with three runs, one stolen base, and one double. That's the most runs he has posted since back in April of 2024.

In other batting news, Caleb Lapka was excellent, going 2-for-3 with three RBI and one run. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in May of 2024. Aidan Domingue also deserves some recognition as he got his first hit of the season.

Rock Academy has already played their next game, a 17-5 victory against Pacific Ridge on the 23rd. As for Calvin Christian, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 22-0 defeat against Escondido Charter on the 23rd.
