Baseball Recap: Cedar Crest Comes Up Short

Cedar Crest was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They fell 4-0 to the Twin Valley Raiders.

Aaron Krumbine was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he didn't allow a single earned run over 4.1 innings pitched. He also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Cedar Crest is 4-2 when he allows at most one earned run, but 2-7 otherwise.

Cedar Crest's loss dropped their record down to 6-9. As for Twin Valley, they have been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-5 record this season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Cedar Crest will square off against Ephrata at 4:15 p.m. on Monday. The Falcons' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Mountaineers have averaged an impressive 7.5 runs per game this season. As for Twin Valley, they will challenge Daniel Boone at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. The last four games the Blazers have played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.
