De La Salle won the last time they faced Chicago Mt. Carmel and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Meteors' defense stepped up to hand the Caravan a 1-0 shutout. The final result isn't all that surprising considering De La Salle's considerable advantage in MaxPreps' Illinois soccer rankings (they are ranked 13th, while Chicago Mt. Carmel are ranked 100th).

De La Salle's win bumped their record up to 9-2. As for Chicago Mt. Carmel, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-3.
