Volleyball Game Preview: Del Mar Dons vs. Evergreen Valley Cougars

The Del Mar Dons will head out to face off against the Evergreen Valley Cougars at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.

Del Mar lost 3-0 to Leigh on Thursday. The Dons have struggled against the Longhorns recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive lost meeting.

While Del Mar was not able to make it on the board, they still kept things close, especially in the first set. The final score came out to 25-22, 25-18, 25-14.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Evergreen Valley, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Tuesday. They blew past Independence 3-0 last Thursday. The Cougars haven't had any issues with the 76ers recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive victory against them.

While Evergreen Valley won a shutout, things came down to the wire in the third set they played. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-9, 25-10, 29-27.

The win got Evergreen Valley back to even at 8-8. As for Del Mar, they now have a losing record of 11-12.

Del Mar came out on top in a nail-biter against Evergreen Valley in their previous meeting back in March, sneaking past 3-2. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Dons since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
