Softball Recap: Richland County Takes Down Freeburg in a Playoff Battle

It's playoff time, and Richland County had no trouble coming through when it counted. They had just enough and edged out the Freeburg Midgets 6-5 on Saturday. That's two games straight that the Tigers have won by just one run.

Kennedy Knox was incredible, going 2-for-4 with one home run and two RBI. That home run marked the first that she has launched this season.

Richland County has been performing well recently as they've won eight of their last ten matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 16-10 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.8 runs over those games. As for Freeburg, their loss ended a five-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 17-13.

As of now, neither Richland County nor the Midgets have any future games scheduled.
