Softball Recap: Randolph County Gets the Win

Randolph County won the last time they faced Cleburne County and things went their way on Tuesday too. Randolph County walked away with a 6-3 win over Cleburne County. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Randolph County.

Abi Waters spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned runs on nine hits and racked up ten Ks. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up more than two walks in 12 consecutive appearances.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Hannah Parmer, who went 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI. Those two stolen bases gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Emmy Maffeo, who went 2-for-3 with three RBI and two doubles.

Randolph County's victory bumped their record up to 15-6. As for Cleburne County, they moved to 8-14 with that loss, which also ended their three-game winning streak.

Coming up, Randolph County will be playing in front of their home fans against Wadley at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Cleburne County, they will head out on the road to square off against Ranburne at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
