Enumclaw extended their winning streak to eight on Saturday, bumping them up to 8-0. They came within five points of losing the streak, but they secured a 33-28 W against the Eastmont Wildcats. The win almost wasn't to be: the Hornets were down 21-7 in the second quarter.

Among those leading the charge was Gavin Trachte, who threw for 239 yards and a pair of touchdowns while completing 75% of his passes. That's the most passing yards he has posted since back in October of 2024.

As for Eastmont, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 4-3. They were up 21-7 in the second quarter but couldn't hold on to the lead.

Several Wildcats players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Peyton Zelinski, who rushed for 102 yards and two scores on only seven carries. Ethan Akpodiete was another key player, rushing for 149 yards and one TD on only 13 carries.

Looking ahead, Enumclaw will be playing in front of their home fans against White River at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams have allowed few points on average (Enumclaw 8.6, White River 3.2) so any points scored will be well earned. As for Eastmont, they are taking a road trip to square off against West Valley at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Wildcats will be up against the Rams' rather soft defense (which has allowed 40.63 points per game), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
