Basketball Recap: San Mateo Takes a Loss

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact San Mateo can now relate to. They fell to the Palma Chieftains 52-47. The Bearcats were up 44-29 in the third quarter but couldn't hold on to the lead.

San Mateo's defeat dropped their record down to 20-7. As for Palma, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last nine games. That's provided a nice bump to their 21-7 record this season.

San Mateo does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Palma, they will square off against Berkeley at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Palma will be up against Berkeley's rather soft defense (which has allowed 56.16 points per contest), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
