Volleyball Recap: Esperanza Takes a Loss

Esperanza lost against Brea Olinda back in September and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Aztecs fell just short of the Wildcats by a score of 3-2. While the Aztecs didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Wildcats 25-18 in the first set.

Esperanza actually scored more points across those five sets (105-97), but sadly they still had to settle for second. The match finished with set scores of 18-25, 13-25, 25-17, 26-25, 15-13.

Esperanza's loss dropped their record down to 7-13-1. As for Brea Olinda, their win bumped their record up to 16-12.

Coming up, Esperanza will challenge Villa Park at 5:45 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Brea Olinda, they will be taking part in a tournament against Calvary Baptist at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday. The Cougars will roll in looking for their sixth straight victory, something the Wildcats surely won't give up without a fight.
