Basketball Recap: Mountain Range Skates Past Wheat Ridge with Ease

Mountain Range's found some homefield redemption this week after a overtime loss to Niwot on Tuesday. The Mountain Range Mustangs blew past the Wheat Ridge Farmers 67-31. The game was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 36-10.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Mountain Range to victory, but perhaps none more so than Camila Jimenez, who dropped a double-double on ten points and 11 rebounds. What's more, Jimenez also racked up seven assists, the most she's had since back in December of 2023. Josieraye Running Wolf was another key player, dropping a double-double on 17 points and ten rebounds.

Wheat Ridge's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Sophia Burnham, who posted six points along with five rebounds and three steals. Skarlette Arenas was another key player, putting up four points and four steals.

Mountain Range moved to 1-1 with that win, which also ended their four-game losing streak. As for Wheat Ridge, their loss dropped their record down to an identical 1-1.

Mountain Range didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 54-43 defeat against Eagle Valley on the 12th. As for Wheat Ridge, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 49-17 loss against Moffat County on the 12th.
