Softball Recap: Skyline Comes Up Short

Skyline extended their losing streak to three on Monday, dropping their season record down to 10-8-1 in the process. They lost 17-2 to the Blackfoot Broncos. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat the Grizzlies have suffered since April 10th.

Skyline saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Bella Jensen, who went 1-for-3 with one run and one double.

As for Blackfoot, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 17-4. They might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 11 matchups by six runs or more this season.

On Blackfoot's side, Kylee Pratt made a big impact no matter where she played. She tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. Pratt has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run.

In other batting news, Olivia Mickelsen was a standout: she went 3-for-4 with one home run, three runs, and three RBI. Those three hits gave her a new career-high. Berkley Moore was another key player, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances with one home run and three runs.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Skyline is set to square off against their familiar foe Shelley at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Blackfoot will take on rival Hillcrest at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
