Volleyball Recap: Delavan-Darien Wins Going Away Against Whitewater

Delavan-Darien barely beat Whitewater the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Comets put the hurt on the Whippets with a sharp 3-0 victory on Thursday. The Comets haven't had any issues with the Whippets recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive win against them.

While Delavan-Darien won a shutout, things came down to the wire in the second set they played. The match finished with set scores of 25-15, 25-22, 25-10.

Morgan Weiss paced Delavan-Darien's offense, picking up 11 kills. Weiss got some help from Janelle Damrow and her 18 assists. Mackenzie Struck controlled things from the service line, finishing with four aces.

Delavan-Darien's victory bumped their record up to 14-9. As for Whitewater, they dropped their record down to 1-13 with the defeat, which was their fifth straight at home.

Coming up, Delavan-Darien will square off against East Troy at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Whitewater, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 2-0 loss against Oostburg on the 27th.
