Basketball Recap: Lansing Comes Up Short

If Lansing was feeling good fresh off their 51-15 takedown of Turner last Thursday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Lansing Lions came up short against the West Chargers on Friday, falling 67-45. The Lions have struggled against the Chargers recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive lost matchup.

West's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Sydney VanDyke led the charge by dropping a double-double with 12 points and 19 rebounds. VanDyke also grabbed three steals, which is notable because West is 4-2 when she posts at least three steals, but 2-12 otherwise. Imani McGlory was another key player, going 8-for-15 en route to 18 points in addition to eight boards and three steals.

Lansing's loss dropped their record down to 3-16-1. As for West, their victory ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 6-14.

As of now, neither Lansing nor West have any future games scheduled.
