Baseball Game Preview: Statesville Christian Lions vs. Asheville T Trailblazers

The Statesville Christian Lions will face off against the Asheville T Trailblazers at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this contest.

Friday just wasn't the day for Statesville Christian's offense. They lost 12-0 to Burlington Christian Academy on Friday. Having soared to a lofty 11 runs in the game before, the Lions' shutout was a dramatic turnaround.

Meanwhile, Asheville T didn't have quite enough to beat Victory Christian on Thursday and fell 9-7.

Sterling Haynes was huge no matter where he played even without the win. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing three innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. Haynes was also big at the plate, scoring a run while going 2-for-4.

In other batting news, Gage Flowers made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored two runs and stole Two bases. while going 4-for-5. He also hit a triple, marking his first of the season.

Asheville T now has a losing record of 2-3. As for Statesville Christian, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-2.

The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Monday as neither team is afraid to steal. Statesville Christian has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 3.8 stolen bases per game.
