Dorchester Academy came into Thursday's match looking for another win against Andrew Jackson Academy, but McKinnley Beard wouldn't allow it. The Warriors won by a set and slipped past the Raiders 3-2 with plenty of help from Beard, who had 24 kills, nine aces, and six digs. She has been hot for a while, having posted six or more kills the last 22 times she's played.

Andrew Jackson Academy wouldn't go down easily and took Dorchester Academy into a fifth set where they got it done with a nine-point win. The final score came out to 25-19, 27-25, 21-25, 24-26, 15-6.

Andrew Jackson Academy's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Bella Carrigg led the charge by getting three digs and three aces. The dominant performance also gave Carrigg a new career-high in assists (35). Harlo Sease was another key player, getting ten digs, seven kills, and three aces.

Andrew Jackson Academy has started the season off flawlessly and has a 2-0 record to show for it.
