Baseball Game Preview: Harding Knights vs. Como Park Cougars

Harding hasn't had much luck against Como Park recently, but that could start to change on Wednesday. The Knights will welcome the Cougars at 4:30 p.m. One thing working in Harding's favor is that they have posted at least ten runs in their last five matchups.

Harding lost 32-17 to Highland Park on Friday. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game on Wednesday (12), the Knights still had to take the loss.

Jaunathan Williamson made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and got on base in four of his five plate appearances with two stolen bases, three runs, and one RBI. Miguel Kirckof was another key player, going 1-for-4 with three runs.

The home team had come away the winner the last six times Como Park and Johnson had met, but sadly for the fans who attended this one that wasn't the case. The Cougars came out on top against the Governors by a score of 13-10 on Tuesday. With that victory, the Cougars brought their scoring average up to 6.9 runs per game.

The team relied heavily on Brendan Avant, who went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one double. The team also got some help courtesy of John Corniea, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with three runs.

Harding's loss dropped their record down to 2-4. As for Como Park, their win ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 3-5.

The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Wednesday as neither team is afraid to steal. Harding has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 6.3 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Como Park struggles in that department as they've been averaging 4.5 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
