Basketball Recap: Dynamic Duo of Jariyah Sowell and Jordyn Griffin Lead Central to Victory

Central hadn't done well against York Prep recently (they were 0-8 in their previous eight matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Saturday. The Central Eagles came out on top against the York Prep Patriots by a score of 31-22. The Eagles didn't have much to brag about two games back, but this victory makes it their second in a row.

Leading Central to victory were Jordyn Griffin and Jariyah Sowell. Griffin posted 12 points in addition to seven boards and five steals, while Sowell scored ten points and five steals. That's the most steals Sowell has posted since back in December of 2023.

Central smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 12 offensive rebounds. That's the most offensive boards they've managed all season.

Central's win bumped their record up to 3-14. As for York Prep, they dropped their record down to 0-11 with the defeat, which was their sixth straight at home.
