Basketball Recap: Sunrise Mountain Miners vs. Durango Trailblazers
The Sunrise Mountain Miners lost to the Durango Trailblazers back in January, but the Sunrise Mountain Miners didn't allow the Durango Trailblazers the same satisfaction on Thursday. Sunrise Mountain managed a 43-38 win over the Trailblazers.
Sunrise Mountain's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Delyla Ross, who dropped a double-double on 16 points and 11 rebounds. Ross hasn't dropped below two steals for 16 straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Eamoni Drake, who almost dropped a double-double on nine points and 12 rebounds.
Sunrise Mountain's victory bumped their record up to 16-11. As for Durango, they have not been sharp recently as the team's lost three of their last four matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 9-16 record this season.
Sunrise Mountain will look to defend their home court on Monday against the Falcons at 6:30 p.m. Foothill is coming into the match hot, having won their last three games. As for Durango, they will head out on the road to take on the Dragons at 6:30 p.m. on Monday.
