Baseball Recap: Northpoint Christian Academy Wins Going Away Against Liberty Preparatory Christian Academy

The home team had come away the winner the last five times NorthPoint Christian Academy and Liberty Preparatory Christian Academy had met, but sadly for the fans who attended this one that wasn't the case. The NightHawks blew past the Patriots 13-2 on Friday. The win continues a trend for the NightHawks in their matchups with the Patriots: they've now won eight in a row.

Tyler Wagner was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He struck out nine batters over six innings while giving up just two earned runs off two hits. With that strong performance, he is now averaging an impressive 5.1 strikeouts per game. He was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with one home run. That home run was his first of the season.

In other batting news, NorthPoint Christian Academy let Andrew Badolato and Reagan Price run wild. Badolato scored two runs and stole a base while going 1-for-3, while Price scored two runs while going 2-for-3. That's the most hits Price has posted since back in April of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Micah Enriquez, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-4.

The victory got NorthPoint Christian Academy back to even at 6-6. As for Liberty Preparatory Christian Academy, the defeat snapped their winning streak at three games and leaves them with a 3-3 record.

Coming up, NorthPoint Christian Academy will square off against Lee Park Prep at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. The timing is sure in the NightHawks' favor as the team sits on 12 straight wins at home (dating back to last season) while the Knights have been banged up by three consecutive losses on the road. As for Liberty Preparatory Christian Academy, they will challenge Hickory Christian Academy at 6:15 p.m. on Monday. The Knights will roll in looking for their sixth straight win, something the Patriots surely won't give up without a fight.
