Basketball Recap: Harding Academy Starts off Right with Win over Jessieville

Harding Academy took care of business in their home opener (and then some) on Tuesday. They claimed a resounding 65-37 win over the Jessieville Lions. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Wildcats also won the last time the pair played back in December of 2024.

Claire Citty went supernova, going 10-for-22 on her way to 30 points along with eight steals and six rebounds. That's the most points she has posted since back in November of 2024. Another player making a difference was Emery Wilson, who shot 42% from the field en route to 12 points in addition to six boards and three steals.

Harding Academy smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 18 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive rebounds in ten consecutive games dating back to last season.

Jessieville's loss dropped their record down to 1-3.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming contests. Harding Academy is headed away from home for the first time to square off against Manila at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Jessieville, they will head out to face off against Fountain Lake at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday.
