Basketball Recap: Summit Christian Academy Piles Up the Points Against TEACH Homeschool

Summit Christian Academy had to skate by with only a three-point margin when they last took the court, which might have inspired the 38-point drubbing they dealt TEACH Homeschool on Friday. The Summit Christian Academy Eagles breezed by the TEACH Homeschool Beach Breakers to the tune of 67-29. The contest marked the Eagles' most dominant win of the season.

Summit Christian Academy's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Don Forrest, Jr., who made all 6 shots he took racking up 15 points and four steals. That's the most points Forrest, Jr. has posted since back in February of 2024. Cole Miller was another key player, going 8 for 12 on his way to 18 points.

Despite the loss, TEACH Homeschool still got an impressive performance from Aiden Dickson, who posted 12 points.

Summit Christian Academy pushed their record up to 7-9 with the win, which was their fifth straight at home. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 63.8 points per game. As for TEACH Homeschool, they are on a 15-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-10.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Summit Christian Academy will take on The New Community School at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for TEACH Homeschool, they will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Greenbrier Christian Academy at 7:00 p.m. on February 1st.
