Basketball Recap: Mater Academy Narcoossee Takes a Loss

The Mater Academy Narcoossee Spartans came up short against the Pinecrest Lakes Prep Eagles on Monday and fell 58-48.

Despite the loss, Mater Academy Narcoossee saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Ibrahim Abdullah shot 59% from the field on his way to 22 points and six boards. Another player making a difference was Pedro Salicrup, who posted eight points and ten rebounds.

Mater Academy Narcoossee's defeat dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Pinecrest Lakes Prep, their win (their first of the season) made their record 1-2.

Coincidentally, Mater Academy Narcoossee and Pinecrest Lakes Prep will both be playing Orlando Science the next time they take the court. The Spartans will head out to face the Orcas at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday, while the Eagles will host them at 5:30 p.m. on January 9, 2026.
