New Albany easily dispatched Borden on Wednesday, but unfortunately both the margin and the ultimate result were a different story in this one. The Bulldogs fell just short of Evansville North by a score of 8-6 on Friday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest defeat the Bulldogs have suffered since May 18, 2024.

Gavin Rand was cooking despite his team's loss, going 2-for-3 with two runs and one double. He has become a key player for New Albany: the team is 2-1 when he posts at least two runs, but 4-6 otherwise. Braden Brewer was another key player, going 2-for-4 with three RBI.
Meanwhile, Jennings County had to endure a four-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They came out on top against Columbus East by a score of 7-3 on Thursday.
Cole Skinner made a splash no matter where he played. On the mound, he pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Skinner was also big at the plate, earning one RBI, one run, and two stolen bases.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Carter Hudson, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.
Jennings County's victory was their first in the conference, bumping their conference record up to 1-2 and their overall record up to 6-7. As for New Albany, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-7 record this season.
