Softball Game Preview: Lower Dauphin Falcons vs. Palmyra Cougars

The Lower Dauphin Falcons will face off against the Palmyra Cougars at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. The timing is sure in Lower Dauphin's favor as the squad sits on five straight wins at home while Palmyra has been banged up by six consecutive losses on the road.

On Friday, Lower Dauphin came up short against Donegal and fell 8-5.

Sadie Borrelli was huge no matter where she played even without the win. She didn't allow a single earned run over four innings pitched. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in four consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-4 with three RBI and one double.

In other batting news, Jordan Frye made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and got on base in three of her four plate appearances with one home run and three stolen bases. She has been hot recently, having posted at least one home run the last three times she's played.

Meanwhile, Palmyra also suffered a loss in their last game, falling to Carlisle by a score of 15-11.

Emerson Gingrich was cooking despite her team's loss, going 1-for-3 with two stolen bases and three runs. Ava Walmer was another key player, going 1-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.

Lower Dauphin's defeat dropped their record down to 9-5. As for Palmyra, their loss dropped their record down to 2-13.

Everything went Lower Dauphin's way against Palmyra in their previous matchup back in April of 2024, as Lower Dauphin made off with a 15-0 victory. Do the Falcons have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Cougars turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
