Volleyball Recap: Stagg Triumphs

Stagg hadn't done well against Bradley-Bourbonnais recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. The Chargers narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past the Boilermakers 2-1. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Chargers also won the last time the pair played back in October of 2024.

Stagg was actually outscored in aggregate across those three sets (72-67), but they still managed to win. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-23, 16-25, 26-24.

Stagg found their leader in sophomore Elaina Yasin, who had eight digs and four aces. Those four aces set a new season-high mark for Yasin.

Stagg moved to 16-14 with that victory, which also ended their three-match losing streak. As for Bradley-Bourbonnais, their loss dropped their record down to 20-13.

Coming up, Stagg will face off against Shepard at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Bradley-Bourbonnais, they will challenge Champaign Central at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
