Football Recap: Oak Park-River Forest Starts off Right with Win over Rich Township

Oak Park-River Forest had to travel to play their first game of the season, but the final result was worth the trip. They put the hurt on the Rich Township Raptors with a sharp 28-6 win on Friday. Given the Huskies' advantage in MaxPreps' Illinois football rankings (they are ranked 123rd, while the Raptors are ranked 280th) , the win wasn't entirely unexpected.

Rich Township's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Kai Williams, who rushed for 98 yards and one score on only ten carries, and Ortez Johnson, who rushed for 121 yards on only 14 carries. Williams really tore up the turf during one magnificent 85-yard run.

Oak Park-River Forest has already played their next game, a 35-0 defeat against Fenwick on the 5th. As for Rich Township, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next match, a 31-26 loss against Zion-Benton on the 5th.
