Volleyball Recap: Carman-Ainsworth Takes a Loss + How To Watch

Carman-Ainsworth lost against Grand Blanc on September 9th and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Cavaliers came up short against the Bobcats, falling 3-0. The Cavaliers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back matches.

While Carman-Ainsworth was kept off the board, it wasn't for a lack of trying: they cut into Grand Blanc's winning margin in every set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-11, 25-17, 25-18.

Reya Mohre was the offensive standout of the match as she had seven digs and two aces. Those seven digs gave her a new career-high. Sophie Perkins also deserves some recognition as she had her first block of the season.

Carman-Ainsworth's defeat dropped their record down to 3-13. As for Grand Blanc, their victory ended a six-match drought on the road and puts them at 5-14-2.

Carman-Ainsworth and Grand Blanc could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps Michigan Rankings. The Cavaliers (ranked 528th) will meet Davison (ranked 26th) at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Grand Blanc will square off against Powers Catholic at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday with a big rank disadvantage (353 vs. 139).
