Softball Recap: Fairfield Central Comes Up Short

After flying high against Eau Claire two weeks ago, Fairfield Central came back down to earth. The Griffins came up short against the Chester Cyclones on Tuesday, falling 18-1. The matchup marked the Griffins' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Fairfield Central saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Layla McMillan, who went 1-for-2 with one home run.

Fairfield Central's defeat dropped their record down to 3-3. As for Chester, with the win, they broke their three-game losing streak and moved their record to 3-4.

Looking ahead, Chester will be playing in front of their home fans against Rock Hill at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Fairfield Central will be paying especially close attention to the Cyclones' game: after the Cyclones face off against Richard Winn Academy, they'll take on Fairfield Central again at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
