Softball Recap: Millikan Find Success

Millikan won the last time they faced Long Beach Poly and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Rams came out on top against the Jackrabbits by a score of 8-3. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Rams.

Lauren Cantwell spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned (and one unearned) runs on three hits and racked up 11 Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts any time she's pitched this season.

On the hitting side, Addy Everrett was a standout: she went 2-for-3 with two runs, two RBI, and one double. Another player making a difference was Riley McAndrew, who went 3-for-4 with four RBI.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Millikan kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. They are a perfect 9-0 when they post 11 or more hits.

Millikan's win bumped their record up to 15-8. As for Long Beach Poly, their loss ended a six-game streak of away wins and brought them to 11-5.

Coincidentally, Millikan and Long Beach Poly will both be playing Jordan the next time they take the field. The Rams will host the Panthers at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday, while the Jackrabbits will host them at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday.
