Softball Recap: Cassadaga Valley Takes a Loss

Cassadaga Valley extended their losing streak (dating back to last season) to 11 on Thursday, dropping them down to 0-8. They came up short against the Clymer Central/Sherman/Panama Wolfpack, falling 14-0. The matchup marked the first time this year in which the Cougars were not able to get on the board.

As for Clymer Central/Sherman/Panama, the win (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 7-1. They might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won six contests by six runs or more this season.

For Clymer Central/Sherman/Panama's part, Elli Bodamer made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out eight over five innings pitched. Bodamer has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in seven consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going a perfect 4-for-4 with three runs, two RBI, and one double.

In other batting news, Caylee Pinzok and Addie Wiggers did most of the damage at the plate: Pinzok went 2-for-3 with two RBI and one run, while Wiggers got on base in all four of her plate appearances with two runs and two RBI. Tayler Pinzok was another key player, getting on base in two of her four plate appearances with two runs and one RBI.

Cassadaga Valley has already played their next game (against Maple Grove), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. As for Clymer Central/Sherman/Panama, they have also already played their next matchup, a 16-4 victory against Frewsburg on the 8th.
