Basketball Recap: King's Academy Lions vs. Royal Palm Beach Wildcats

King's Academy had to hit the road for their first game and it wasn't the result they were hoping for. They took a 70-63 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Royal Palm Beach Wildcats on Friday. The Lions were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Wildcats apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in December of 2023.

Several Lions players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Honour Mays, who posted 22 points. Alex Wojciechowski was another key player, going 7-for-10 to rack up 18 points.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Royal Palm Beach to victory, but perhaps none more so than David Alexis, who scored 26 points. Those 26 points gave Alexis a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Guervinsly Pierre, who almost dropped a double-double with 22 points and nine boards.

Royal Palm Beach pushed their record up to 3-0 with the victory, which was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season.

King's Academy will get a bit of extra time to process the defeat as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Somerset College Prep Academy at 7:00 p.m. on December 2. As for Royal Palm Beach, they will square off against Grandview Prep at 4:00 p.m. on Friday.
