Baseball Recap: St. Paul/Palmer Snaps Five-Game Streak of Wins at Home

St. Paul/Palmer dropped their record down to 6-5 on Tuesday, which also ended the team's five-game streak of wins at home. They fell 9-4 to the Central City/Centura Kernels. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Kernels this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 10-4 on April 7th.

St. Paul/Palmer saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Mason Majerus, who went 1-for-3 with two RBI, one run, and one double.

As for Central City/Centura, the win keeps they at an undefeated 13-0. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they've averaged 9.6 runs this season.

On Central City/Centura's side, the team relied heavily on Jakob Ruhl, who went 2-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double. Mason Gorecki was another key player, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run.

Coming up, St. Paul/Palmer will challenge Fairbury at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Jeffs have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 12.35 runs per game on average), something the Wildcats will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Central City/Centura, they will head out on the road to take on York at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Kernels' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Dukes have averaged an impressive 8.1 runs per game this season.
