Basketball Recap: Camden County Comes Up Short

If Camden County was feeling good fresh off their 83-47 takedown of Manteo last Thursday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Camden County Bruins received a blow on Saturday as they fell 63-45 to the Manteo Redskins. The Bruins were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Redskins earlier this season, when they won 83-47.

Manteo found their leader in sophomore Zay Banks, who on his way to 27 points and eight boards. Another player making a difference was Taylor Granitzki, who to rack up 16 points along with eight rebounds and three steals.

Camden County's loss was their fourth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 12-12. As for Manteo, their win was their first in the conference, bumping their conference record up to 1-13 and their overall record up to 6-13.

Camden County didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 72-62 defeat against Currituck County on the 17th. As for Manteo, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 79-39 loss against Northeastern on the 17th.
