Volleyball Recap: Jalynn Ford and Haley Skinner Secure Win for Gideon

There's no place like home for Gideon, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Saturday. They blew past the Richland Rebels 3-0 on Monday. That's more bragging rights for the Bulldogs, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

The match finished with set scores of 25-11, 25-18, 25-8.

Gideon was led to victory by Haley Skinner and Jalynn Ford. Skinner had seven digs and four aces, while Ford had nine digs and one assist. Those four aces gave Skinner a new career-high.

They weren't the only good server: Gideon was lethal from the service line and finished the game with 18 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least five aces in ten consecutive matchups.

Gideon's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 10-1. As for Richland, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-5.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Gideon will take on Delta at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Richland, they will face off against Charleston at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
