Basketball Game Preview: Leto Falcons vs. Newsome Wolves

The Leto Falcons will head out to face off against the Newsome Wolves at 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, both will really light up the scoreboard.

Leto will head into Friday's matchup on the come-up: they were handed a 25-point loss in their previous outing, but that didn't affect their clutch gene on Friday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Tampa Bay Tech, sneaking past 69-67. The score was all tied up 29-29 at the break, but the Falcons were the better team in the second half.

Meanwhile, Newsome entered their tilt with Armwood on Friday with five consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with six. Everything went their way against the Hawks as they made off with a 66-46 victory. The Wolves have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won six contests by 20 points or more this season.

Newsome pushed their record up to 19-1 with the win, which was their third straight at home. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 59.3 points per game. As for Leto, their victory was their first in the district, bumping their district record up to 1-3 and their overall record up to 5-13.

Leto came up short against Newsome when the teams last played back in December of 2021, falling 67-58. Can Leto avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
